The term “BIG DATA” also known as “Machine Learning”, and “Behavioral Marketing” to name just a few. At Tell All Digital, our product is called “Consumer Telligence”, They can all sound intimidating. Let’s be serious, it can be downright scary. From what it implies to what it actually is, can be very different. The entities that use it can also determine how scary it actual is.
For instance, a company that uses Big Data to laser focus marketing toward you because you should really be interested in what the product they offer, is not that scary, but it is helpful to show you things you might like but never heard of. On the other hand, you might even say the wrongs hands, it can be very big brotherish. If the NSA uses Big Data to spy on you or to lump you into a group that is now being watched by the government, just because they deem your online behavior suspicious because it matches some algorithm. Very 1984, but fear not! Most of the entities that use this data just want to it for marketing. This may be a little annoying, but it is not dangerous.
In its simplest application, our algorithm covers about 250 million people, mostly in the US. We take the potential clients, client list and put the data of purchase and the email into our algorithm and out of the 250 million people we cover, about 50% of that potential clients, clients will be people that we are already covering. So now we go back a few weeks and look at their path to purchase. When we are looking at hundreds or thousands of people behaviors, we build a starting model of behaviors of what people did right before they bought from that particular company. Now whoever exhibits those same kinds of behaviors will be shown ads on all platforms until they stop showing those behaviors.
The way the ads are delivered is by using paid traffic sources like Facebook, Google Display, Google AdWords networks, and just about any other platform you can think of. The idea at this deliver ads to them all over the web, on many devices and platforms. Smart TVs are coming very soon.
This seems like new technology, but it has been around for a few years. The fact is that only fortune 500 companies spending over 6 figures a month were the only ones who could use it. Now firms like mine, Tell All Digital, can sell it for about the cost of a good regional SEO program. Fell free to give us a call at 1-877-702-1971
