A double opt-in, however, involves getting the single opt-in, then having the recipient reconfirm by clicking a link in a confirmation email sent to them. Having an opt-in email list generally produces a much greater amount of opens and clicks.

Forget about just “the list” and segment!

Segmenting your lists is all about focused marketing. Lists, for example, can be segmented by interest group, demographics, subscriber activity, and sign up date. Your email title should be engaging, beneficial, and not loaded with SPAM characteristics (such as upper case letters, excessive symbols and/or words such as “free,” “money,” and so on). It is important to not make your title too long. Customizing the title with your customer’s first name, for example, can also help.

Develop an amazing email and send it!

Now that you have done a lot of work, let the fun begin (it’s time to develop the email itself)! The body of the email should include your company logo, summary of the content (if newsletter style), and graphics that are attractive and not annoying to the eye. The email should look clean, easy to follow and user friendly on all devices. Make sure to have a call to action – such as an offer to purchase something, sign up for a service, or share content on social media pages. Also, include your contact info and a reply to email that is quickly accessible.

Analyze like a brilliant marketer.
